The St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC), Inc., deems it a marked honour to celebrate with the CARIFTA Secretariat and the St Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletics Association on the recent hosting of 44th edition of CARIFTA GAMES. The SKNOC would like to congratulate our athletes on their consistent and commendable performance. Special mention must be made of medalists: Kristal Liburd, Reanda Richards, Kieshonna Brooks, the 4x400m female Relay Team, Ajani Bridgewater, Jermaine Francis, Warren Hazel, and Nathaniel Huggins.
In March 2015, President of the St. Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee, Mr. Alphonso E. Bridgewater approached the Pan American Sports Organization (PASO) for a financial donation towards the hosting of the CARIFTA Games. This request was granted in the amount of U.S $50,000 (E.C$ 135,000.00 dollars) and the said amount was handed over to the St. Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (SKNAAA). Hence, the SKNOC is pleased that it has been in a position to consistently support the efforts of St. Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (SKNAAA) to attain “podium presence” in regional, continental and international championships.
Additionally, between 2014 and 2015, alone, the SKNOC has contributed to the St. Kitts and Nevis Amateur Athletic Association (SKNAAA), approximately $750,000.00 E.C dollars towards training, equipment, travel, competition, participation and accommodation, is an extremely significant illustration of financial investment specifically for the preparation of SKNAAA athletes for participation in the CARIFTA GAMES.
Every congratulation and heartfelt thank you is extended to the supporters, athletes, and the planning and executing bodies of the 2015 CARIFTA Games.
